How often do you receive meeting feedback after a meeting? Is it feedback that is helpful to understand where you can improve? Or does it sound more like crickets chirping?
In many of our go-go jobs, we can often lose sight that we have individuals at different experience levels in our meetings. Most meetings have no feedback mechanism to help the meeting facilitator improve. We received feedback from many individuals that there simply is no good way to provide feedback in most meetings. The problem is compounded when we are all having virtual meetings.
Our journey has led us to re-imagine the meeting process to improve engagement and meeting performance. We've now rolled out a new feature in Bella. Our meeting feedback feature reports on the anonymous feedback shared during a meeting. Now it's easy to provide feedback on any aspect of the meeting. All participants in the meeting are able to see the feedback, so that problems can be addressed. So how does it work?
During a live meeting, each person logs into the shared Bella canvas. Collaborative meeting notes and action items are noted. During the wrap-up, each individual can add their own anonymous feedback on the meeting.
Capturing anonymous feedback live during a meeting with each person on their collaborative canvas in Bella provides several benefits for both the participants and the moderator.
Feedback is always anonymous- we never show your name. Participants in the meeting gets a chance to weigh in to share how the meeting went, if their objectives were met, and provide additional feedback. This is a simple way to provide the information in real time. It allows for a capture of ideas and improvements at the time when they are still fresh in your mind- before you ever leave the meeting.
For managers and senior team members- is there never enough time to provide feedback to your team? Providing thoughtful feedback is one of the best ways to help individuals improve. Yet as we go from one meeting to the next and juggle many priorities, it is easy for this to slip further and further down our list. By the time we remember to do it, the best examples have left our memories.
Our research has shown us that individuals want feedback on their performance more frequently, not just a once a quarter or once a year review. Who wants that generic once a year review that never helps you really improve? Collecting feedback this is also a great way to share feedback with less experienced colleagues. It allows for providing mentoring as meetings occur.
Once the meeting is complete, everyone will be able to see the meeting feedback.
By selecting the meeting feedback, a summary of the responses from the team can be reviewed.
If further details on the information given are desired, each area can be open for review.
This is the latest way that Bella Scena is democratizing meetings and providing real time feedback to help individuals and team have better, more productive meetings.
